Max win
The largest payout a single round can produce, as a multiple of the bet. Between 25,000x and 50,000x the bet, depending on the title and the mode. In buy features the maximum is 25,000x.
Volatility (std dev)
How widely single-round results spread from the average. Higher values mean longer runs without wins and larger spikes. Engine rates each mode Low, Medium or High.
Hit rate
The share of rounds that pay anything, also shown as "1 in N". A 13.12% hit rate is 1 in 7.62.
Zero rate
The share of rounds that pay nothing: 100% minus the hit rate.
Sub-bet win
A win smaller than the cost of the round.
B/E
Break-even rate: the share of rounds that return the round’s cost or more.

RTP contribution
How much of the total return comes from one payout band.
Tail probability
How likely a single round is to pay a given multiple or more, such as 5,000x.
CVaR
Conditional value at risk: the average payout across the worst 0.1% of outcomes for the operator, checked per unit of stake and in absolute terms.
Expected tail liability
How much of a game’s expected payout sits above a threshold such as 40x or 10,000x.
Bet tier
Engine’s star rating for a bet range. Games that pass a tier’s risk limits keep that tier’s full caps.

The numbers, drawn

Hit rate. Out of 100 Goblin Gold Mine base-game spins, about 13 pay something (13.12%) and about 8 return the bet or more (8.4%).
$96.70 returned$3.30 house edge
RTP. Of every $100.00 wagered over the long run, $96.70 comes back to players. A single session can land far above or below that.

Worked example

Goblin Gold Mine's base game has a 13.12% hit rate, so about one spin in 7.62 pays something. Its zero rate is 86.88%, the other side of the same number.

The payout table puts the 20x to 50x band at one spin in 165.49, worth 18.35% of RTP. At a $1.00 bet over 10,000 spins, you would expect roughly 60 wins in that band returning about $1,835 of the $9,670 the game returns in total. Individual sessions vary widely around that average, which is what the standard deviation of 15.52 describes.
