Game modes and bonus buys
What a mode costs, what it returns and how to compare modes.
Cost is a multiple of the bet
Every Nitro Gaming title has a base game plus additional modes. A mode's cost is a multiple of the base bet. At a $1.00 bet, a 100x mode costs $100.00 and a 1000x mode costs $1,000.00.
The same return in every mode
Each mode targets the game's 96.70% RTP, so buying a mode does not change the long-run return. The one exception is Vein Hunt in Goblin Gold Mine at 96.53%. What changes between modes is how the return is distributed.
Reading a mode
- Hit rate is the share of rounds that pay anything.
- B/E is the share of rounds that return the mode's cost or more.
- Volatility is Engine's rating of how widely that mode's results spread.
A mode can pay something almost every time and still return its cost only a third of the time, so compare B/E as well as hit rate.
