How often it pays

In the base game, 13.12% of spins pay something, about one spin in 7.62. 8.4% of all spins return the bet or more, and 4.7% return part of it. The remaining 86.88% pay nothing.

Engine also reports streaks. On average there are 8 spins between wins and 12 spins between profitable spins. A run of 49 non-paying spins, or 79 losing spins, has roughly a one-in-a-thousand chance.

Where the 96.70% comes from

RTP is an average over millions of rounds, so it helps to see which wins supply it.

  • Wins under 20x supply 36.40% of the return.
  • Wins between 20x and 1,000x supply 56.27%. The 20x to 50x band is the largest single contributor at 18.35%.
  • Wins of 1,000x and above supply 4.01%.

A win of 100x or more lands about once every 820 spins; a win of 1,000x or more about once every 46,500 spins. Shares are rounded and add to 96.68% here.

Seven modes

Goblin Gold Mine has seven modes. Each cost is a multiple of the base bet, and each targets the same return, with Vein Hunt at 96.53% the only exception.
